Really fun teaching weekend in Stratford… now to a show at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto!
Wow… what a great group of students last weekend in Stratford. The energy, enthusiasm, and depth of talent blew me away! Thanks to all of you for making the weekend so special. It was warm with the blow torches going (you know who you are…. wendy!) heat guns, griddles, but it didn’t stop us from having a lot of laughs, and creating some lovely work. Especially since it was new to so many! Now it’s time to shift gears and get myself down to Toronto on Thursday of this week… the Speakeasy is taking place at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, 1214 Queen St. west, 29 artists, from 6-11p.m. Pay what you can or $4 donation suggested. Please come by and see some of my new work… the dancing pieces are making their public debut. These are done by dancing on the wax, with charcoal on my feet, and then pulling the shapes and imagery from the dance…. very different for me, and larger than I usually work. I’d love to share them with you! (Pictured: Detail of ‘With Wings Outstretched’, 2010, 40″x56″)
